What did you do right after we graduated?

Attended Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana, graduating June 1967 with a degree in psychology.  Generally worked summers as a camp counselor and on the waterfront staff.

What has been your occupation(s) over the past 50 years? Tell us about any highlights or cool things that you’ve been a part of.

Administrative Assistant at the University of California, Davis, for several years.  Beginning in 1976, real estate broker in San Diego County, California.  Co-Owner and Treasurer, Del Mar Realty Associates in Del Mar, since 1986.

Where have you lived, and where do you live now?

Following Earlham College -- Middlebury, Vermont; China Lake, California; Davis, California; Clewiston, Florida; Kensington, California; Del Mar, California; and Rancho Santa Fe, California (since 1977).

Are you retired? If so, what are you doing in retirement?

Not exactly retired -- maybe semi-retired would be accurate.  See "interests/activities" below for what I am doing outside the office...

Please tell us about your family, spouse/s, children, grandchildren, etc.

Husband John Snow, also a graduate of Earlham College, with further degrees from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont, and University of California, Davis, is retired after years as Vice President at Calbiochem Corporation, San Diego, California.  No children.  Two nephews, both married, one with three young children.  (My parents and brothers are deceased.)

What interests/activities do you find most satisfying?

Travel, photography, genealogy, reading, walking, swimming, attending theatre productions and movies with friends.  My travels are primarily with a girlfriend from my college days.  My photography has been included in a small photo book on Baja California, including some of my haiku, published privately to benefit the Liga MAC charitable organization in San Jose del Cabo, Baja California, where we have a second home.  My interest in genealogy and family history has been strong since 1968.  In the mid-1970s I was co-author of a Peake Family History.  I continue to spend much of my time getting 40+ years of genealogical research and correspondence on my tree on ancestry.com so as to benefit other searchers, present and future.

Did you have experiences in High School that influenced later choices in your life?

I'm sure that every experience in life has influenced later choices.  I am still in touch with friends from grade school days.  In fact, some of those early friends have been telling me for months that I am going to be in Ann Arbor in July 2013 -- so YES, I have registered and expect to be there.  Truth be told, I've never been to a reunion, high school or college.

Do you have any memories from High School that you would like to share?

Important friendships and memorable teachers. Mostly I was a student, but there were important times away from school -- at the First Methodist Church on State Street (with Katie Strand, Sara Slee, Trudy Aupperle, Becky McArtor, Nancy Joiner, Cheryl Storm, Jim Benton, Alan Symons, and others) and in Girl Scouts (with Connie Bowler, Anne Guldberg, Dian Crist, Barb Lewellen, and others). Sometimes the boundaries between Mack School, Slauson, and AAHS blur as to where I first met someone, but the memories and the old photographs and yearbooks remain. Friendships with Carol Hirth and Carol Oestreicher began at Slauson. JD Walden was a near neighbor from grade school days, but probably would not be recognized today. And, my lifelong friend Sue Latourette who did not attend Ann Arbor High, having moved from Ann Arbor after 8th grade, may indeed find her way to Ann Arbor in July in order to spend some time with me and our mutual friends.

What else would you like us to know about?

Hmmm. I suppose I could say that I've never had any inclination to change the color of my hair (still blonde) so I am enormously amused (?) that Mother Nature seems to have her own plans and has added a few gray hairs in recent years!
