What did you do right after we graduated?

Hi Everyone,

It has been a wonderful journey since high school.  I married my high school

sweetheart Will Scott and Scottie passed in 2003 after 41 years.  In 41 years

I was a proud and committed Navy wife and raised 3 wonderful children, the 

joy of my life.  Went to Pima Community College, where I taught for 4 years. 

I spent 22 years as a Corporate Officer in Banking and another 24 years in

the Meeting and Destination Marketing Industry. Now semi retired still in the

meetings industry with HelmsBriscoe.

What has been your occupation(s) over the past 50 years? Tell us

about any highlights or cool things that you’ve been a part of.

I have had so many highlights in my life, but to name a few; President and

CEO of the Mobile Convention and Visitor Bureau, Mobile Alabama.  The first

African American women to head a Bureau in

the United States. Attended the 1984 Olympic Games, Los Angeles as an

official representative for First Interstate Bank, the official bank of the

Olympics and gave the closing address to hundreds of bank employees. It

was a "Blast" and a highlight of my banking career. I've graced the cover of

many industry magazines.  In the "Book God is My CE\" by Larry Julian I'm

among top CEO's and how they used their faith in God to be leaders.

Where are you living?

I now live in Houston Texas, actually Missouri City Texas.  It is a great place

to live, but I miss my children and grandchildren.  I have had the thrill of living

in many places because of Scotties Naval Career and my career.

Are you retired? If so, what are you doing in retirement?

I'm semi retired and enjoying it. I work out of my home so I can go to a

movie, exercise, go to lunch and travel when my husband and I get ready.  I

just shot down the computer and it's have ipad will travel!

Are you married? What’s your spouse’s name?

This is the best part I have had God bless me twice.  I lost Scottie in 2003

and thought I would never fall in love again. After 8 years of being alone and

trying to date!!?? I met a wonderful man and we married July 29th 2011,

LeRoy Savage.  The great thing is he is from Chicago and lived and worked

in Ann Arbor and we just fit!

Do you have kids? Where are they & what are they up to?

I have two boys and one girl;  Sheri is the oldest and lives in Phoenix Arizona

and is a Social Worker for the City of Phoenix, graduate of Arizona State.

Shawn is a my middle son and is a administrator for a Technical School in

Tulsa, Okalahoma.

Sheldon is the youngest son and is one of the top managers for Discount

Tires in Tucson Arizona for over 20 years. 

How about grandchildren? How many? How old? Where are they? But

wait! What about great grand-kids?!!?

I have seven grand children "The Best"

What’s your favorite hobby (or hobbies)?

My favorite hobbies are fashion, travel, movies and serving others where

ever there is a need.

Have you had any adventures you’d care to tell us about?

My most memorable adventures include a trip to Hong Kong and many trips

to England are at the top of the list.  Most recently LeRoy and I were in

Orlando on business and visited Universal Studios and we rode the Hulk

roller coaster and the Spider Man!!!! Awesome!

What else would you like us to know about?

I often think of my high school days, they were great! Ann Arbor High and my

classmates were the best!
