"The Purple and the White" was written by Earl V. Moore and Margaret Cooley. Margaret
Cooley taught music in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and Earl V. Moore served as Dean
of the Music School at the University of Michigan. He is best known for writing "Varsity,"
one of the best known University of Michigan songs. The recordings of both "The Purple
and the White", and "Push On" features the Fall 2011 Pioneer High School Chorus.
