WASHINGTON CLUB PHOTO MICHIGAN THEATER PHOTOSWhat did you do right after we graduated?
I attended EMU for 2 years and then got a job at Argus Optics. In the
following 3 years I married, changed jobs and got divorced. In l970 I
married again and for 22 years lived in Ann Arbor and Saline before
moving to Sarasota, FL. My husband passed away in 1994 after which
I moved to Tallahassee, FL to be closer to my daughter and her family.
What has been your occupation(s) over the past 50 years? Tell us
about any highlights or cool things that you’ve been a part of.
I have been a secretary, cosmologist, and now working in the securities
industry. But, the best job I have had is being a stay at home Mom with
our daughter, Melissa. Quite a variety of occupations, some fun, some
not so much. It has been a learning experience!!
Where are you living?
At present we live in Tallahassee, FL with all intentions of moving to the
northwest for our retirement years. Not quite sure when that will be, but
we can dream!!
Are you retired? If so, what are you doing in retirement?
No, I'm not. My husband is not eligible for social security for a couple of
more years, so I might as well work. Occupies my time and that way I
can help keep the economy going, or not.
Are you married? What’s your spouse’s name?
I am married to Jeff. We've been married for 10 years and it's been
GREAT fun. We met on line after I moved to Tallahassee and ironically
enough he lived about a block away from me, he's from the Detroit
area and he also attended EMU after returning from Viet Nam.
Do you have kids? Where are they & what are they up to?
I have one daughter, Melissa. She is married to Ben, an environmental
engineer from Indiana. Her away from home job is director of Daniel
Kids a suicide prevention non-profit origination in Jacksonville, FL. She
received her degree from FSU in Rehabilitative Services. She and Ben
have 2 daughters, Kelsey 11 and Emma, 7.
How about grandchildren? How many? How old? Where are they?
But wait! What about great grand-kids?!!?
We have two granddaughters, Kelsey and Emma. Emma was adopted
from China in 2004. And, as most of us know it's great fun having
grandchildren so we can spoil them and then send them back to Mom
and Dad. Both girls are very involved in school and just earned their
yellow/green belts in Karate. Kelsey started middle school this year and
Emma is in third grade.
What’s your favorite hobby (or hobbies)?
I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking, gardening and just being.
Have you had any adventures you’d care to tell us about?
That's what life is! It's one BIG escapade.
What else would you like us to know about?
I'm healthy, happy and having one heck of a life.
