What did you do right after we graduated?

I went to work for the University of Michigan Dental School and met my

husband.

What has been your occupation(s) over the past 50 years? Tell us

about any highlights or cool things that you’ve been a part of.

I was primarily a housewife but once our youngest was in 5th grade I

became my husband's office manager and worked there for 20 years.

We have retired and settled in Southern Florida.

Where are you living?

Dave and I live on an Island off of Cape Coral in the Gulf of Mexico. We

still have our home in Lake Ann, Michigan where we spend 3 months

each summer.

Are you retired? If so, what are you doing in retirement?

We are retired and I am starting a new career as a fabric teacher,

quilts, dolls, and handbags. I travel internationally to teach retreats and

keep busy teaching in quilt shops both in Florida and Northern

Michigan.

Are you married? What’s your spouse’s name?

David and I met in Dental School and have been married 46 years. We

dated 6 weeks, got engaged for 6 weeks and were married. Twelve

weeks from beginning to end, although we worked together for most of

a year before we began dating.

Do you have kids? Where are they & what are they up to?

We have three children, Tammy, Matt and Jonathan. Tam and Jon live

in Traverse City very close to us. It is a joy to be home every summer

to spend time with them and the six grandchildren there. Matthew is in

Springdale, Arkansas working for a subsidiary of Tyson Foods.

Jonathan is a building contractor, and Tam is a stay at home mom with

a full time job as a medical coder.

How about grandchildren? How many? How old? Where are they?

But wait! What about great grandkids?!!?

We have 8 grandchildren, 20 to 8. The two oldest are at Michigan

State, one is a senior, and then we have a few years to wait before any

more leave home. I have discovered that grandchildren are a great

way to get even with my children.

What’s your favorite hobby (or hobbies)?

Fortunately for me, my new career is a reflection of my oldest

hobby...sewing. Dave and I also go fishing here in Florida, Northern

Michigan, and West in Montana.

Have you had any adventures you’d care to tell us about?

Every day is an adventure if you look closely enough. There is always

something exciting to find in each days' activities.

What else would you like us to know about?

I am happy.
