Attended Northern Michigan University and Michigan State. Graduated
from NMU, 1972, with 4 years in the middle in the Marines.
What has been your occupation(s) over the past 50 years? Tell us
about any highlights or cool things that you’ve been a part of.
Went into retail after graduation, working as manager and buyer for 6
men\'s clothing stores. Last 20 years at a GM dealer, selling new/used
cars. Helped start soccer for kids at an advanced level {not
recreational). Coached a travel team and high school boys and girls for
7 years. Won a district championship.
Where are you living?
Moved back to Marquette, Mich. in 1978. Spending winters now in
Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Are you retired? If so, what are you doing in retirement?
Retired in 2009, golfing, biking, kayaking, traveling and reading.
Are you married? What’s your spouse’s name?
Married to Susan (Sue) since 1972.
Do you have kids? Where are they & what are they up to?
We have 3 sons, Erik, Michael and David. Erik is in blood research in
Rochester, MN. at the Mayo Clinic. His wife is a pathology asst. there.
Mike is a radiology tech at the hospital in Jackson Hole, WY. David is in
Dillon, COLO. (in the mountains near Denver). Working as an
administrator in human resources.
How about grandchildren? How many? How old? Where are they?
But wait! What about great grandkids?!!?
Erik and Mike are married, but no grandkids. David is in a serious
relationship. We do have 3 granddogs!
What’s your favorite hobby (or hobbies)?
Reading is probably first, with golf, kayaking and biking following up.
(Still stamp collecting, too.)
Have you had any adventures you’d care to tell us about?
Had visits to Bangkok and Hong Kong while in VietNam (and adventure
by itself). Met up with Eugene Wenk in Hong Kong. He was working
with Air America. Had a great 4 days together! (Gene's cancer returned
in 1971, killing him.)
